Menstrual cycle: Variation over time!

According to studies conducted by experts, a woman menstruates 2250 days in a lifetime, which corresponds to about 450 cycles in total and therefore the average length of a cycle is 28 days, although it varies from one woman to another. As the subject of menstruation is still quite taboo in some parts of the world and quite complex in others, we are lifting the veil so that you have the information you need to better understand your body.

The importance of knowing your menstrual period
When we talk about the menstrual cycle, we are really talking about the time that exists between two successive periods. On average, a cycle lasts 28 days, but we should not rule out the hypothesis that each body acts differently. Some have long cycles of up to 35 days, which does not mean that the cycle is irregular, and others have short cycles of 21 days.
To estimate your ovulatory or fertile period, you will need to know the length of your menstrual cycle. For those on contraception or those who do not wish to become pregnant this will be of great help. If there is any irregularity, you can consult a doctor to get as much information as possible. You should keep your cycle information jealously as there are medical consultations where the dates of your last period are asked as well as the length of the cycle.

Calculating the length of the menstrual cycle
This exercise is a real headache for many women. First of all, it is important to remember that the cycle begins on the first day of the period and ends on the day before the next cycle. The number of days between these two periods must therefore be counted to form a cycle. Since the cycle changes from month to month, if you want to know the length of the cycle accurately you should track it carefully over 03 months and do the ratio to see what your average length is.
Demonstration: In the previous 03 months, the durations were 30 days, 28 days and 25 days. Add up these numbers, then divide by 3 and you will get the average duration.
For an easy reminder of your period dates, write them down in a notebook or record them in an online women's application like FLO which I use and like.
